Olek's artistic method is stemmed from the ability to do two things at once: crochet and watch movies! She says that what she creates is influenced by the films she watches, and vice versa.

She describes her work ethic as being like that of a miner; she'll always want to investigate deeper into her work, which took her away from industrial Silesia, Poland, and brought colour and energy into her world. Currently based in NYC, Olek's goal is to "produce new work and share it with the public...and create a feedback to the social and economic reality in the community".

Be on a constant lookout for Olek's human installations around the world; sometimes she's the one behind the fabric!

Crocheted bike series: Poland, Miami, Las Vegas.

She recently covered Botero in her birthday project on Rambla del Raval in Barcelona. The bull on Wall Street, NYC is a similar project she did in 2010.

Olek's crocheting developed into fashion, costume and set design.
Upcoming work:
In her hometown, Olek covers a crane (above), among other things, to celebrate her tenth year of crocheting. Until April 29th 2012 at Katowice Street Art Festival, Poland.
From July, Olek's work will be presented as part of the '40 under 40' exhibition in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC.
