The swedish electro band Little Dragon has gained a lot of success since their third studio album release in July last year. Little Dragon are supporting Red Hot Chili peppers this year during their 2012 tour and are playing at numerous of large festival this summer, and Little Dragon was founded in Göteborg, Sweden, in 1996 by Yukimi Nagano, Erik Bodin and Fredrik Källgren Wallin, who all met in high school. Håkan Wirenstrand joined the the dragon family in 1999. It took them seven years before the band released their first single Twice, which was later then featured on Grey's Anatomy.
"During that time we were all working side jobs, we didn't know what it meant to be in a band." says Nagano in a interview with Spin in 2011.
Little Dragon and Gorillaz worked together on a few tracks that were featured on Gorillaz's 2010' album Plastic Beach, and also followed them on their world tour.
Ritual Union was released in July 2011 and is definitely Little Dragon's big break thorugh. The 11 tracks are more coherent and have a mysterious and dreamy sound about them, but still very sharp.
