While your fantasies will become a reality, this year Monegros will assault all of your senses. Throughout festival grounds, there will be numerous street theatre companies performing, as well as massive art instillations.
In an attempt to take the concept of a musicfestival and create a holistic arts experience, Monegros DesART Festival will unite several different internationally known art and street theater companies like La Fura dels Baus, Sarruga, Carros de Foc, Alea Teatrekrash Company, Toniton or La Gralla. Inspired by its surroundings (sand...) and going along with the official video spot for the festival, which declares "war is coming, try to survive," the theme for DesART will be "sand, fire, steel and destruction with a Mad Max feel."
Another "non-musical", but just as sweaty, feature of the festival is the Monegros Skate Contest. Because what is an urban music festival in the desert without skateboarding? More than 40 invited riders from around the world will compete to win a part of 14,000E cash prize. With the sounds of the San Miguel stage in the background, you'll feel like a part of those skate videos you've always watched or those Tony Hawk video games you used to play on PS2, or wait, is that just me?
