Duct Tape Tag #2

01 Jun 2012

tape

Last night the first ever (as far as we know) game of Duct Tape Tag went down in Placa Del Pi as a free for all, run-around contest to stick but not get stuck to your surroundings and the other players in the game.  The game begins with each participant being duct taped from the shoulders down to the elbows with the sticky side of the duct tape facing outwards. This sufficiently restricts arm movement to an appropriately ridiculous level and provides an adhesive surface on which players can tag each other.  The tagging is done with pieces of paper marked with the first and last initials of each player providing a simple count of how many people tagged you along with which players you were tagged by. Each player is armed with fifteen papers and the game is played with a 34 minute time limit or until all players have run out of ammo.  On the line is the threat of a public shaming circa the tar and feather days of yore, suspending the loser indefinitely in a mini duct tape prison.  The player with the highest number papers stuck to their chest is declared the loser, and in the end the American Chris Scanlon was duct taped to a lamp post in the middle of Placa Reial. True to form, he took it like a champ and even with his feet 6 inches from the ground he accepted defeat with grace and poise along with some minor respiratory difficulties.

Thanks to everyone who came out to play!

Tune in next week for more information on future games and updates!
