Next week graffiti artist Dan Persson from Sweden will visit Barcelona to pimp some of the legal walls around the city. He moved to Brisbane from his hometown Alingsås, where he studied graphic design for one year. The 25-year old artist currently lives in Gothenburg, where he's working and having some exhibitions. Dan created his first piece when he was 16 years old and has painted more or less ever since.
Hopefully we will catch him for an interview next week!

Visual Brasil Festival
Visual Brasil, a public audiovisual festival dedicated to video performance art in real time, is celebrating its 10th year in Barcelona this June.
The event aims to bring new trends to the audiovisual world and display them to the public, by promoting international exchange, knowledge and reflection. More than 20 European and South American artists and groups will collaborate in this special anniversary meeting; through a multicultural skills exchange they will explore and create video art, mapping and audio-visual performances by experimenting with familiar and new media.

Artists are often lazily described as ‘ahead of their time’, as people at the progressive vanguard of humanity who possess the vision to see far into the future. This phrase has always had the capacity to irritate. Artists are of course not seeing the future, merely interpreting the world around them in different ways to others, expressing that through the mediums of literature, music or more conventional art.
The Brick Lane BCN vintage market is blossoming, but it can't yet be compared with the legendary second-hand and vintage district Brick Lane in London. A few years ago, a woman named Krystal-Joy spread the Brick Lane concept and started it in Barcelona with a monthly vintage sale event. Brick Lane BCN has grown and is one of the most appreciated markets in Barcelona today. Read more about Krystal-Joy and Brick Lane BCN below.
DubKraft Rec. and Relevant Bcn kick off a series of collaborative works, events and releases under the label "Enchufate!" The concept is rather rich and open but, to keep it simple, think: human connectivity + arts + fun + technology + a bit of innovation. As much as possible, we'll add the beach and the sun too as main ingredients. And the bottom line of all this commotion and connectivity is to grow partying and party growing. Because we can.
The full track will be available soon exclusively for our supporters so if you want it, you have to participate in our events, contests and online activities!
So come and join us @ El Chiringuito Relevant on Sat 19th May 8pm - 2am for some DUBKRAFT music and RELEVANT vibes.
*Don't forget to bring a warm jumper because it can get a little chilly in the night time.

Spanish artist Malakkai knows how to make images come to live with a three-dimension feeling. Malakkai expresses his art through graffiti, illustrations, sketches and on canvas. He uses a lot of colours and often makes the creatures blend in with the surroundings.

WHAT THE F*** IS GOING ON? Featured

As the most oft quoted man of the 1980s, Noam Chomsky will surely not begrudge another plagiarising of his work, particularly given the rather anarcho-leftist feel to this tirade. Our friend Louis went to the US to discover exactly how the stifling bureaucracy of today’s most powerful nation limits humanity's natural yearning for creativity. The aggressive politicism of the piece speaks for itself and to overstress it once again would be missing the point. Instead of focusing on the methods conspiring to our limitation, we must focus on what indeed the “tanks [that make you] shit your pants” are attempting to limit, in this case mankind’s creative spirit.

This EggBox episode is a very special one for me; what we are about to introduce are some of the most buried sounds hidden deep in the vaults of modern music and deserve to be brought to more like-minded ears.
Igor Bystrov, better known as Parks, is a professional trombone player who was raised in the sunny little town of Sochi, located in the wild Russian countryside. He later established himself in one of the most beautiful cities ever built, St. Petersburg.
